On February 1, 2009, Lakeview Bible Church overwhelmingly decided to begin raising funds for a new church facility. Will you pray with us that God's leading and direction will be clear? Will you pray for our church to continue to have a spirit of unity and peace? Will you pray that the Lord will work a miracle for us and through us? Will you pray with us that the Lord will provide the amount needed?

Dear Friend, I am the Senior Pastor at Lakeview Bible Church (Lakeview), located in Carter Lake, Iowa. This letter is coming to you from someone who wanted to share with you Lakeview’s great dream.Lakeview has served the city of Carter Lake for over fifty years as a beacon of hope.
However, Lakeview has one major weakness that limits our ability to reach the entire community. That weakness is: steps everywhere. The main entrance to the facility demands the ability to walk up steep, concrete steps. The rear entrance is step free until you enter the building.Once inside there are steps leading up to the fellowship hall, sanctuary or down to classrooms and restrooms. Our restrooms are not only downstairs but are also not handicapped accessible. The kitchen and nursery are on the lower level, too.Not only is there a need to overcome the step barrier, there is also the need to increase the seating capacity of our sanctuary. We currently have a seating capacity of 100.Praise the Lord we average 80 and continue tosee growth.Lakeview has faithfully served for many years but the years have taken its toll. With every good, hard rain we have several leaks which result in falling ceiling tiles and cases of unhealthy mold.
We believe if our facilities were adequate our ministries would be more effective. As a Board, we have looked at our options. We have considered renovating, remodeling and rebuilding. The best decision made in the best interest of the church is to rebuild on our current property. Lakeview was built before current regulations and building codes. To renovate or remodel is comparable in cost to a new building. To see this vision and dream become a reality will require a miracle. The amount we need is $1.9 million. This is a huge task for a congregation of our size and with human eyes it seems impossible. However, we know nothing is too big for our big God.
Our God is bigger than any monetary amount needed to accomplish any task. The purpose of this letter is to share our need and place that need before you.
The financial need is great and prayer is crucial.
Would you keep us in your prayers as we seek God’s wisdom as we continue to strive forward seeking God’s direction and provision for us?If you would like to help financially, please send your donation to the following address.Checks should be made out to Lakeview Bible Church with “Building to Reflect” on the memo line.
